Dale Coyne Racing Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach Race Report
Long Beach, California (Sunday, April 21, 2024) – Dale Coyne Racing saw both drivers take the checkered flag at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach on Sunday. Rookie Nolan Siegel climbed seven spots in his No. 51 King Taco machine to finish 20th and No. 18 INVST driver Jack Harvey placed 25th after contact with another competitor during his first stint.

• Siegel was making his first points-paying start at Long Beach, after making his NTT INDYCAR SERIES debut at Thermal last month.
• The rookie made steady progress throughout the race moving up three positions before a Lap 15 full course caution.
• Siegel ran competitive lap times keeping up with his closest competitors.
• He made his first pit stop on Lap 30, exiting pit lane in 24th place.
• He was running 23rd after his second stop on Lap 58 and went on to gain three more positions before taking the checkered flag in 20th place.
Post-Race Quote
“My first full length standard IndyCar race is done. It was a long one, the guys did a great job. The car was much better in the race than I think it has been all weekend so props to the team for making that improvement. We had good stops, it went smoothly. We picked up seven spots and our pace seemed pretty strong. It’s really hard to pass around here. I feel good and overall, I’m happy with the day. Huge thank you to everyone that’s helped me along the way and this weekend and let’s see if we can do better in Indy.”

• Harvey gained a couple of positions throughout his first stint and was running 21ston Lap 15 when he tried to avoid a spinning car in front of him.
• Unfortunately for the No. 18 INVST driver, he wasn’t completely able to avoid contact and suffered damage to his car which sent him down pit lane for repairs.
• Despite the setback, Harvey was able to continue in the race, but the damage was done.
• After falling to 26th following his incident, he was able to gain one more position and take the checkered flag in 25th.
Post-Race Quote
“In the first part of the race, we moved up a couple spots and then Rasmussen spun in front of me and I had nowhere to go. He hit me as he was spinning back down the track and it damaged the floor, and the sidepod and I lost a ton of downforce and grip because of that and that was pretty much the race. I think the positives from the weekend are that we were better today than we were yesterday. I think we moved the car along so hopefully we can continue that little bit of momentum that we built there. Obviously, it didn’t show in the race unfortunately, but if we can start progressing in the weekend like we did from yesterday to today then I think we’ll start seeing some real progress for Dale Coyne Racing.”
